Akasil® Antifoam 10: a market-leading antifoam solution for food process waters
Developed specifically for food processing applications, this non-ionic emulsion disperses easily in both hot and cold aqueous systems, requiring only mild agitation for complete dissemination.
Akasil® Antifoam 10 is particularly suited to systems where a lower level of foaming activity may be encountered and a lower level of antifoam activity desired. This can include fruit and washing, meat processing and cleaning.
FD10 can be useful for the processing of meat and fish (brine solutions, digest production), sugar preparations (juices, jams, compotes, etc), dairy (condensed milk, whey, protein, in-line cleaning) and vegetable and salad (salads, vegetables, beans and pulses). Note that this product is not suitable for direct use in food production, only related processing operations.
For maximum efficiency, we recommend pre-dilution with water before use, with a 1:4 ratio of Akasil® Antifoam FD 10 : cool soft or deionised water, with 12 hours’ dilution for the best results. Generally speaking, between 0.01 and 0.5g/L of antifoam is sufficient.
At 10% activity, this product sits alongside other food-approved antifoams of higher strengths, including 20% and 30% silicone content. All are European H1 and Kosher certified, meeting the highest level of regulatory approval for use as foodstuff process-aids.
