History.
For nearly 50 years Airedale Chemical has been driven by a dedication to diversify its product offering to meet current trends or deflect potential industry challenges.
1973
Airedale Chemical was founded by Brian Chadwick in Heaton, West Yorkshire. Brian left his role at Sandoz as a dye salesman and began operating as a sole trader initially buying and selling textile dyes in and amongst the Yorkshire textile industry boom.

1985
The mid-90s saw the UK textile industry sore with demand. Airedale Chemical began its growth with a relocation to a larger site and the addition of 10 new staff.

1994
Airedale Chemicals’ final relocation to our current home in Cross Hills, North Yorkshire. The site provided up to 3 acres of space which has grown significantly to this day.

1997
Under the guidance of Richard Chadwick (2nd generation) Airedale Chemical began trading in the companies first ever chemical product. Hydrogen Peroxide was traded to existing dye industry customers.

2000
First chemical reactor was purchased following the acquisition of a new chemical manufacturing contract involving Formaldehyde resins

2005
Richard Chadwick was appointed Managing Director of Airedale Chemical becoming the businesses 2nd generation owner.

2008
Key UK Phosphoric Acid supply deal is announced following a distributorship with Chengxing (China). Airedale Chemical begins to supply the UK water industry to which is continues to service to this day as the UKs largest Phosphoric Acid distributor.

2010
Significant investment is carried out on the Cross Hills manufacturing plant circa £1M as the company begins its refocus on manufactured chemical solutions.

2015
Ingredients distributor Rigest Trading Ltd is purchased by Airedale Group providing a brand new market to service within the food and beverage industry.

2016
Chris Chadwick is appointed Managing Director of Airedale Chemical as 3rd Generation business owner. Richard Chadwick moves to Airedale Group Chairman.

2017
Airedale Chemical submits Peracetic Acid dossier as only UK manufacturer of the molecule listed on Article 95.

2020
Airedale Group acquires Alutech Metal Surface Treatment Limited allowing entry to the niche and highly specialist metal treatment market.
